10 Buildings in SolPlex That Will Change Your Strategy
This blog walks you through ten key non military buildings that can significantly influence your progression, defence and long term positioning. Whether you are strengthening your first colony or refining an established empire, these structures shape how efficiently and effectively you grow.
The Foundation of Strategy
In SolPlex, strategy is not only about armies or alliances. It begins with infrastructure. The buildings you prioritise shape your growth speed, defensive strength, economic flexibility and long term positioning inside the galaxy. Some structures simply support your colony. Others fundamentally change how you play.
1. Synthetix Hub
Your main building and the core of your colony.
The Synthetix Hub reduces construction time and increases population. Every upgrade compounds over time, meaning faster expansion, quicker unlocks and smoother progression. Prioritising this early accelerates everything else.

2. Colony Walls
Provides a defensive bonus to your colony.
Even during protection, upgrading Colony Walls prepares you for incoming pressure. Strong walls reduce losses and protect your long term growth once you become a target.

3. Food Vault
Stores NU.
Storage capacity is often underestimated. Without enough space, production is wasted. A well upgraded Food Vault allows you to stack resources for major upgrades and timed expansions.

4. Omni Depot
Stores BP, MT and GS.
As your production scales, so does overflow risk. The Omni Depot ensures your core resources are protected and available for large upgrades, market activity and infrastructure pushes.

5. Unobtanium Depot
Allows storage of all high tier resources.
Once you move beyond basic production, high tier resources become critical. This building supports advanced upgrades and late game structures, making it essential for sustained growth.

6. Trade Nexus
Unlocks trading and increases trader count.
The Trade Nexus opens access to the player driven marketplace. Whether buying shortages or selling surplus, this building adds flexibility to your economy and allows strategic resource management.

7. Gravity Warehouse
Increases trader carry capacity.
More capacity means fewer trips and better efficiency. For active traders and market focused players, this dramatically improves logistics and long term profitability.

8. Trade Guild Center
Increases trader speed.
Speed changes timing. Faster traders allow quicker market reactions, better arbitrage opportunities and more dynamic resource positioning.

9. Cloning Center
Increases population growth speed.
Population determines how many units you can support. Faster population growth allows you to build and maintain a larger army, giving you a military advantage over colonies that expand more slowly.

10. Settlers Cradle
Allows settler production and reduces settler population cost.
This is the gateway to your second colony. Expansion defines mid game momentum and the Settlers Cradle enables specialisation, strategic positioning and long term scaling.

The Foundation of Every Empire
Every commander builds the same structures, but not every commander builds them with the same intention. The order you upgrade them, the levels you prioritise and the role you assign to each colony will define your trajectory.
Infrastructure is strategy. When your foundations are strong, every expansion, alliance move and endgame push becomes more effective. In SolPlex, long term success begins with the right buildings at the right time.
